Controlling Panic Attacks

A panic attack is a frightening and horrifying experience that can paralyze a person in the mood of the moment. Many people report a notion of being struck by fear and terror that resembles a large degree of anxiety attack. People often get panic attacks in situations where they receive additional responsibilities that they suspect they will not be able to handle. Sufferers often complain shaking, trembling, chills, numbness in extremities, trouble breathing and heart palpitations.

Fortunately, there are appropriate ways to control these situations and many concrete strategies to help someone succeed. Firstly, one should not hide in the nutshell but try to face the problem. There are several strategies to overcome panic attacks. It will not help if we hide in the fear and embarrassment of our condition. Remember that when we escape or run away from a fearful situation, the anxiety grows in our mind and will eventually create panic attacks. That means that our abilities to control or cope with panic attacks will diminish or weaken.

Many sufferers are planning to work on their panic but often find it hard to begin. Medical experts say, it is difficult to stop panic attacks but it can be controlled if one is determined to do so. What one needs to do is to try to think of a panic situation not as one single dreaded event but to view it as a positive situation that may help him in responding to certain danger. They should learn to prepare for the symptoms of a panic attack before they occur. They have to cope with the symptoms when they occur and reinforcing themselves for coping and staying with the situation. While it can be overwhelming for sufferers to tackle panic attacks, it is important that the sooner they begin treatment, the sooner they will overcome their panic attacks. Finding out the ways in controlling panic attacks is not actually difficult. Stress, attitude, diet and exercise all play an important role in preventing panic attacks.
