This interesting article describes how people who took regular massage for 3 months had their anxiety symptoms cut in half! I think it doesn’t get any better – you do nothing and your anxiety is reduced.

But here’s the interesting bit – they also did a study on how would the really effective massage therapy compare to something as simple as relaxation (laying down and deep breathing) and thermotherapy (being wrapped in warm towels, etc). Turns out all of their effectiveness is similar!

To me this finding is amazing. The results of surveys showed 40 to 50 percent reduction in anxiety. Just by doing something so simple.

They concluded that simple exercise is the best choice, because, well, it doesn’t cost anything. But I think the tricky part is to actually getting into the habit of doing relaxation.
