I’ve found quite a brutal story about today’s warriors who, after coming back home from war zones, are ridden with all sorts of problems.

Many modern warriors who come back from missions from areas like Iraq end up with severe cases of post traumatic stress disorder and a lot of them start heavy drinking or using drugs.

A staggering number of 106726 people who quit military service after returning from Afghanistan and Iraq have been diagnosed with mental disorders. This is huge, I mean – they are well trained individuals!

The article continues to detail a few experiences of some of the warriors who came back from deployment. You can read the full story here.

With all the training they do, it’s interesting how, in the end, it’s up to the individual to cope with such problems.

This interesting article describes how people who took regular massage for 3 months had their anxiety symptoms cut in half! I think it doesn’t get any better – you do nothing and your anxiety is reduced.

But here’s the interesting bit – they also did a study on how would the really effective massage therapy compare to something as simple as relaxation (laying down and deep breathing) and thermotherapy (being wrapped in warm towels, etc). Turns out all of their effectiveness is similar!

To me this finding is amazing. The results of surveys showed 40 to 50 percent reduction in anxiety. Just by doing something so simple.

They concluded that simple exercise is the best choice, because, well, it doesn’t cost anything. But I think the tricky part is to actually getting into the habit of doing relaxation.

If you think you are up to – start doing regular relaxation, if not, consider signing up for some relaxing massage and gain some awesome side benefits as well. In just 3 months you could reduce your symptoms by as much as half!
