It has been noted by deep thinkers of the ancients and of our time that there will be a sort of metamorphosis in the physio-psychological set up of human beings as we go on with our existence. As David Suzuki and other notable scientists recognized, there are so many things going on in just a single moment, we are in a constant process of evolution or sometimes, due to overwhelmingly strong environmental forces, mutation. To cut the long story short, psychology radically influences physiology and vice versa. That is, there is an ever growing complexity in the structural formation (genetic set up and hormonal production and their interactions) of human beings. Many observations has been supporting this fact – biofeedback, psychosomatic effect, etc.
The phenomena of Anxiety Twitching is not a surprise if we are to understand what we have been into (psychologically), and how the current culture shapes such disorders. Many noted scholars had already been saying for decades that neurotic tendencies will be as normal as falling leaves of a tree in the future of industrial life. I would like to get into some of the root causes of this behavior and try to explain it in a bit different perspective.
Enter the modern human being – Living in a fast paced modern world, packed with daily pressures, vulnerable to worries and anxieties, thus, gets easily entangled in the matrix of problems in modern life. Now, we have a whole lot of industries that provide solution to this problem, Be it – self help programs, psychotherapies, counseling, to name some. No doubts that these industries have helped a lot of people cope up with the pressures of everyday life. Seemingly, the whole range of programs is mostly promoting remedy and not cure.
Moreover, anxiety twitching is basically a psychosomatic reaction due to 1.) Excessive levels of adrenaline and, 2.) Hypoglycaemic conditioned response to a given situation. The environment we live into, the food we take, our lifestyle, the whole radius of our inner and outer self (personal and social life) all participates in the process. From our genetic inheritance, early and late childhood experience, resocialization (if there’s any), belief systems, the culture we are into all shapes our perception towards something, and thus, in most cases of neurosis, leads to physio-psychopathology – anxiety twitching.
You can resort to hormonal approach in treating anxiety twitching. I am sure this will help a lot in improving your coping mechanism and somatic destructive responses. However, I would highly recommend that you couple this with one more approach. That is, altering our semi-automatic responses by practicing 1.) Confrontation of personal fear, and 2.) Meditation (I would recommend contemplative methods) for mind control in certain situations. This might seem a bit challenging or to some extent, ambitious but the thing is, if you couple your hormonal therapy with this, there will be a higher possibility of success. By that we mean cure and not only remedy for anxiety twitching.
